A Message from the Director:

Thank you for choosing Kim Massay Dance Productions as your dance studio. Our goal is to provide your dancer with the very finest in dance education. We are here to help your dancer achieve their best individual abilities in the art of dance, which leads to personal growth in work ethic, self-esteem and confidence. These are characteristics that can be seen on and off the dance floor throughout their entire lives.  

To the parents, we hope that by enrolling your dancer at KMDP you intend to take an active role in helping to maintain an enthusiastic and supportive environment for your dancer at all times. You must place your trust in us to make proper decisions in your dancer’s best interest. We trust that your dance experience with us will be a meaningful one. We are here to teach your dancer the Art of Dance.

Registration & Enrollment Policies:

Kim Massay Dance Productions offers a number of classes for various levels and age groups. We offer competition and recreational classes to dancers of all ages. You can view our class schedules on our website under the “classes” link.

  • For your convenience, we offer online registration and enrollment. Registration is accepted on a first come first serve basis. To register and enroll your student, please visit our website at www.kimmassaydance.com and click on the “Enroll Now” link.

  • Classes will be closed to further enrollment once maximum capacity has been reached.

  • An annual non-refundable registration fee will be charged to each dancer enrolled. 

  • Each registered family will have a portal to process payments, register for classes, etc. It is your responsibility to keep all the info (contact info, payment info, etc.) up to date. By registering in our online portal system, you are authorizing KMDP to automatically charge the card on file for tuition, costumes, enrollment and any dancewear purchases

 

Tuition and Payment Policies:

Tuition at KMDP is based on an entire season of dance. Our season begins the first Tuesday after Labor Day and ends with Recital in May. All dancers are required to pay for the entire season. It is not based on the number of classes in a month or attendance. There is NO refund for missed classes, dancers are encouraged to make up missed classes in another appropriate leveled class. 

You can pay the entire season in full or divide it into 9 monthly installments.

  • Tuition is billed and automatically charged on the first Monday of each month, September – May. If tuition has not been received by the 7th, a $15 late fee will be added to the account. This late fee WILL BE enforced.

  • You will receive an emailed receipt after your tuition is auto billed.

  • If your card is declined, an alternate payment must be made within 48 hours.

  • A $30 fee will be charged to your account for any returned checks.

  • We require a 30 day written notice to withdraw from our 2022-2023 season. After the 30 day notice, we will terminate your monthly installment or if a full year was paid, we will refund the remaining installments minus 30%.

  • We accept, cash, check, MC, VISA & Discover. We no longer accept AMEX.

  • A 3% convenience fee will be added to all payments made via credit card.

General Studio Policies:

Kim Massay Dance Productions is proud of our new studio. We need your help in keeping our studio clean and tidy. Dancers and Parents need to clean up before leaving the studio. Siblings are welcome in our waiting areas, however please do not allow them to put their feet on the furniture, run through the lobby, or make excessive noise that could disrupt ongoing classes. Children not in class are the responsibility of the parents, not the studio, and should be under parent supervision at all times.

  • Please throw away all trash. Trash cans are located in several locations around the lobby.

  • Food or drinks are not permitted in the studio lobby or dance rooms. Food and drinks will only be permitted in the break room.

  • Gum is not permitted in the dance studio or dance rooms.

  • Please do not leave any children unattended in the lobby or dance rooms.

  • Children under the age of 5 must be accompanied by an adult when using the restrooms.

  • The restrooms are not play areas. Please keep children out of the restrooms unless they are using the facility.

  • Running is not permitted in the lobby or dance rooms.

  • Jumping is not allowed on studio furniture.

  • Dancers are not allowed in studio rooms when they are not in use.

 

Classroom Policies:

  • Dancers should arrive on time or a little early for each of their classes. Dancers who arrive late cause distraction and delays. It is important for the dancer to arrive on time.

  • Dancers should come into class fully prepared with hair properly secured and dance shoes on.

  • Dancers should keep talking to a minimum during class instruction.

  • Teachers reserve the right to dismiss any dancer from class who continuously disrupts. Dancers need to be courteous in the classroom as there are other students trying to learn.

  • A parent/teacher conference will take place before a “dismissed student” may return to class.

  • Parents are not allowed in the classroom during class time. Each studio will have a viewing window. Once a month the curtains will be open for parents to watch.

  • Parents will be invited to a Visitor’s Day once a semester.

Dropping Off and Picking Up Dancers:

Parents are welcome to drop their dancer off for dance class. Parents are welcome to stay for young children in our combo classes that need help changing shoes. If you drop your dancer off, please be sure to pick them up on time. It is not the responsibility of the studio to watch your child if they are no longer attending class. If you are late in picking up your child and a KMDP staff member or instructor must stay past their scheduled time, you will be charged a $15.00 late pick-up fee.

 

Parking:

We have ample parking in the West & East lots on either end of the building. There is NO PARKING on either side of the North drive between the two lots.

 

Social Media:

Negative posting toward anyone in our studio or someone else’s studio is absolutely prohibited. No liking, sharing, re-tweeting any negative posts in general. When you do this, yourself, your classmates, and our studio are now associated with the negativity. Parents please monitor your dancer’s social media and make any adjustments necessary. If you see something that needs to be addressed immediately please notify info@kimmassaydance.com. We will be watching, violators will face consequences. Repeat offenders may be removed from classes (dances).

 

Studio Rental:

The studio has three large dance rooms that are available for rental on weekends. 

  • Studio #1, our largest dance studio is available for $50 an hour. 

  • Studio #2, our second largest dance studio is available for $45 an hour.

  • Studio #3, the smallest but still a very nice size studio is available for $35 an hour.

 

Holidays:

The studio will be closed for the following holidays: Fall Break, Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break. For these holidays, the studio follows the Edmond Public Schools calendar.

 

Inclement Weather:

The studio reserves the right to hold or cancel classes during inclement weather. We will keep you posted on our website and on Facebook regarding schedule changes due to inclement weather. The studio will not issue a refund for classes that were cancelled due to inclement weather.

 

Recital:

Seeing your dancer perform is one of the greatest thrills for a parent and family members. Our studio hosts an annual recital with 2 shows (2:00 pm and 6:00 pm) in May to showcase our dancers. All dancers have the opportunity to perform in the recital. A mandatory dress rehearsal will be scheduled a few days before the recital. The recital and dress rehearsal is held at Rose State Performing Arts Theater.  Recital Tickets will be sold on-line for a minimal fee. Recital info will be available during Parent Meetings in April.

 

Recital Video and Pictures:

We will have a professional videographer at the recital to video our dancers. You will have the opportunity to purchase the video prior to the recital. Parents and family members are encouraged to bring their cameras and take their own pictures of their dancers.

 

Costumes:

All dancers who participate in our annual recital in May, are required to wear a costume to the recital. Accounts will be charged recital costume deposit with October Tuition. The deposit for 45 minute classes is $90.00 and the 30 minute classes is $60.00. Please note that these charges are a deposit. Balances are automatically billed with January tuition. You may also get a refund if they were cheaper than we expected. 

 

Competition/Convention Policies:

Throughout the year, our competition dancers are required to attend dance conventions. All dancers and their parents are expected to conduct themselves in a courteous and respectable manner while in attendance. Please keep in mind that you are representing the studio when you attend these events. Competition Dancers and their families must sign and abide by KMDP competition guidelines.

 

Lost Items:

The studio is not responsible for any lost or misplaced items. The studio will provide a lost and found box for any items left at the studio.  To help prevent lost items, please make sure to have your child’s name written on all personal items including dance shoes, dance bags, stretch bands, jackets, water bottles and other personal clothing items. Any unclaimed items will be cleared out at the end of each month.
